I have a 2016 Connect 1.5 tdci that I cannot get to start after reconditioning the head. In my efforts to bleed the fuel I have used a vacuum pump to draw the fuel from the filter outlet till it ran clear.
08 1.8 TDCi rough running - TVman : I have a Transit Connect fitted with the 1.8 TDCi engine. It runs fine but the engine is lumpy just off tickover, and again at about 2000rpm. This is when holding it on the throttle while stationary. When actually driving it seems OK but is a bit lumpy when reversing.

You’ll need to see which engine you have as there are 3 engines here: 3.5L (Gas, EcoBoost turbo) 3.7L (Gas, EcoBoost turbo) 2.2L i5 (diesel, totally different from the gas engines) If you are not sure, there should be a sticker under the hood with the engine code and displacement to make it easy to find out which one you need, or in the door jam.

Ive done a few myself and you may find that you need a certain size torque socket or allen key and it's bound to be one you dont have. Apart from that make sure you dont contaminate the belt , you get your timing marks lined up correctly and whilst off if you find any seals leaking it makes sense to replace those while it's in bit's.
